Welcome to the ERRS Website. Since it was formed in 1960, the Edinburgh Rugby Referees Society' ERRS has been a community of diverse but like minded people who ‘Play It, Love It, Ref It’. Refereeing and the ERRS offers you a unique opportunity to be part of one of the most rewarding ways to enjoy rugby whilst providing you with the support and camaraderie you might need and more importantly, staying involved with rugby!

From Edinburgh, through to Linlithgow, Dunbar and Biggar, ERRS provides a club base and support to over 100 active Referees, Assistant Referees and Referee Coaches ensuring that thousands of players and supporters across all levels of rugby in Scotland can get the best out of their sport.

WETS the weekly Wednesday Evening Training Sessions offer not only first class dedicated physical training sessions for our officials, but on the first and last Wednesday of each month, Technical Sessions cover the many aspects of the game that you are involved in.

Monthly Society meetings provide opportunities to share your experiences and develop refereeing skills from dedicated presentations and discussions through to the all important social side of refereeing with our curry nights, annual dinner, quiz night and ‘Night Out’ at the Caledonian Brewery providing great opportunities to simply relax and enjoy the company of friends

On those (fortunately) rare occasions when you’ve had a bad day on the pitch, someone will always be there through ERRS to lend a sympathetic ear and practical advice on how to bounce back. ERRS ensures that its officials will be given every opportunity and support to develop and progress as far as their abilities will take them which could be as high as IRB level where the world truly is an open field for your whistle!
